Tips For Growing Your Hair

Have you ever gotten your hair cut short, only to instantly regret it? Or even if you initially loved it at first, you might have gotten tired of it eventually, and wished you could have your long hair back. Growing out your hair can be a long and tedious process, especially if your hair is prone to breakage. If you are in the process of trying to grow out your hair, here are a few tips you can try to speed up the process:

 Take Supplements

I’m not suggesting that hair supplements can magically make your hair grow longer faster. The truth is that if you have at least a somewhat balanced diet, your body should already have enough of the nutrients needed to strengthen your hair as it grows. However, if you have a very poor diet or you think you might be vitamin deficient, taking supplements could help balance your nutrition, and as a side effect, could also help strengthen your hair so it grows more healthily.

Before taking anything, be sure to consult your doctor or an experienced and knowledgeable health professional. You need to make sure you’re taking the right amount and type of vitamins, otherwise you could be wasting your money at best, or risk harming your health at worst.

 Trim Your Hair Regularly

To be clear, cutting your hair won’t make your hair grow faster. But trimming it regularly ensures that your hair won’t develop frayed or split ends that could cause your hair to break further up the strand. When growing your hair, it’s advisable to have it trimmed once every 10 to 12 weeks to stop split ends in their tracks.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to proper hair care and maintenance. You can’t make your hair grow longer overnight, and there are really no quick miracle fixes that can speed up the process significantly, but it is important to keep your hair as healthy as possible while it’s growing, so as to prevent damage and breakage, both of which can stunt your hair’s growth.

  Protective Styling

Let’s start with the most obvious trick. If you want instant length—maybe for an upcoming special event or occasion—hair extensions can help you out in a pinch. When shopping for hair extensions, it’s important to choose those made from real hair, so they look, feel and move just like your natural hair. Obviously fake hair can look cheap and ruin your overall look. For high quality hair extensions that won’t break the bank, check out the Kinky Curyl or Brazilian straight bundles by True Glory Hair.

True Glory Hair extensions are made from premium quality virgin hair, so they have a completely natural look and soft feel. They also offer plenty of bounce and shine. They are well made and durable, and can withstand regular styling. With proper care and maintenance, they should last you a few years, making them a great investment for anyone who likes to frequently change their look. Another popular product are the Brazilian body wave bundles. These are great for anyone who wants instant volume and body, in addition to length.

Hacks For Shiny And Thick Hair

We all want to look and feel our most confident, and for many of us this will include taking the time to care for our hair. If you are trying to grow out your hair more or simply want it to feel thicker and shinier, here are some hacks you should try.

Keep it cool

For your hair to stay strong and shiny throughout your life you will need to make sure that you aren’t damaging it when you wash it. Hair is very sensitive to temperature and this can cause an issue for us when we take a shower. If you are washing your hair in the shower, try turning the temperature down, washing your hair and then clip it up out of the way while you turn the temperature back up to wash your body. This way your hair isn’t exposed to too much heat at once.

T-shirt towel

Ditch the towel, use your t shirt! Towels can be great for drying hair however they have a lot of fibers which can trap your strands and snap them. This can obviously cause a lot of damage and is something which is always a difficulty to overcome. However with a t shirt you don’t have the same type of fibers and you can easily just wrap it up, dry it off and leave your hair intact.

Avoid using heat

Heat can be an enemy to your hair, but sometimes it can be hard to avoid using heat when you want to try a different style. Heat is something you should use sparingly and it is better to use a high heat for a short amount of time than a lower heat for a long stretch of time. Also, try to avoid blow drying your hair and let it dry naturally.

Hair mask every week

You should be rubbing a hair mask into your locks every single week without fail. It might seem excessive but it is a way to keep your hair strong and it will make a massive difference to it overall. You can get a hair mask for curly hair, straight hair, oily hair and dry hair so you’ll be able to find one which suits your needs.

Braid it overnight

If you leave your hair down while you sleep, this can have a large impact on your hair and it can leave it dry and brittle as it comes into contact with the fibers of your pillow at night. To stop this happening you can use a protective hairstyle like a braid or a high bun/pineapple on top of your head to keep your hair together and strong overnight. Keep it loose and simple to avoid strain on your hair follicles. You’ll find that your hair starts to grow much if you do this, and it will be stronger overall.

flexi rod set

HOW I ACHEIVED THIS LOOK:
1) Starting with freshly co-washed hair I coated my hair with Jane Carter Solution "wrap foam" and CURLS "cashmere curl jelly"

2) Using small-large flexi rods & a few perm rods I took medium sized sections of hair and rolled my hair around the rods starting at the base and down (to ensure smooth and defined hair.)

3) Sat under my dryer for 30 minutes on warm/high heat to set and then air dried overnight.

4) Next day, took rods out and using Pantene Pro-V "argan oil" I separated curls.

5) Slicked edges with CURLS "passionfruit control paste."

6) For extra volume, I used a pick to fluff.
