Make Your Eyes Look Amazing Without Makeup

You do not have to wear makeup all the time for your eyes to look their best. In fact, it does them good to have a rest from it. Forget the mascara, eyeshadows and liners for a while and let the natural beauty of your eyes light up your face.

Get Enough Sleep

You need to get enough sleep if you do not want your eyes to look droopy or puffy. When you sleep, your body repairs and restores itself and that includes your eyes. If you do not want them to look dull and lifeless, but want them to be sparkling, make sure you do not stay up all night but get the sleep you need.

Look After Your Eyebrows

Your eyebrows frame your eyes and although sorting them is not as important as regular eye care checks, they are still an important part of looking after your eyes from a beauty perspective. Do not pluck them too much as a strong eyebrow can make your eyes look wonderful. It is best to get them professionally shaped and find out from the experts what the best shape is for your face structure. Brushing them upwards can help to open up the area around your eyes too.

Treat The Skin Around Your Eyes

When you are moisturizing the rest of your face do not forget the skin around your eyes. You should not use your normal moisturizer for this area though as the skin is much thinner. You should use a gentler cream that offers a barrier repair, and something with a rich emollient is the best.

Have A Nightly Routine

Get into the habit of applying eye cream at night as part of your beauty regime. You can even put it on your eyelids at this time of day. It will help to restore your skin around the eyes from the vigor’s of the day and make them look much more refreshed when you get up the next morning.

Have A Different Morning Routine

You should apply a lighter eye cream in the morning and avoid putting any on your eyelids. Be gentle as you are applying it as pressure around your eyes can cause puffiness.

Eye Brightening Drops

Eye brightening drops can be good for anyone that suffers from allergies, or if your eyes are looking tired. If they are feeling irritated the eye drops can ease this, and reduce any redness in them. There are ones on the market that are designed especially to brighten your eyes, but before you put anything into this most delicate organ, you should speak with your physician and OK it with them.

Stay Healthy

The most important thing to keep your eyes looking good is to stay healthy.  Getting enough sleep has already been mentioned, but did you realize that exercise is good for your eyes as well as the rest of your body? Taking a short walk can improve the eyes fluid drainage system and make them look brighter.

If you keep getting dark circles around them it could be a sign of an iron deficiency. Try eating some iron rich foods and the dark circles should become less obvious. If they do not, talk to your physician, as you may need an iron supplement.

Your eyes can look great all the time without the need for any makeup at all, you just need to care for them.

Why Your Skin Isn't As Healthy As It Could Be

Your skin is much more than you might think it is. It is actually the largest organ that your body has, and as such it is something that you should make sure you are taking proper care of at all times. By properly looking after the skin, you can be sure you're keeping away some of the worst diseases known to humanity, along with allowing yourself to look better, and encouraging better all-round health across your bodily systems too. Unfortunately, a lot of people fail to look after their skin as best as they could, and often this comes down to a few simple things which could easily be changed.

In this article, we are going to take a look at a few of the things that might be stopping your skin from being healthier. Take care of these and you'll find that it makes a huge difference.

Too Much Sun

We all know some of the problems with overexposure to the sun. Yet, it can be so easy to allow your skin to be in the sun for too long. Sometimes it is simply forgetfulness, and sometimes it might even be that you think it doesn’t matter and allow your skin to be out in the open when probably you shouldn't. However, it’s a good idea to begin being careful about when you are in the sun, especially if you are worried about skin cancer, for example if you have had it in the past or you are concerned about one or two of your moles. As long as you don’t get too much sun, you are doing the number one thing you should be doing to keep your skin healthy, so this is absolutely the most important concern of all.

Not Enough Water

One of the biggest skin care concerns has to be water. People often find that they are quick to use moisturizer, but for some reason or another much less keen to simply drink more water. If you have started to think that you could probably do with drinking more water, then the truth is that that could make a huge difference to how healthy your skin is. If you feel there are problems with your skin, almost always you can improve the situation simply by upping your water intake. To do this, you might want to consider the simple yet effective solution of carrying a water bottle around with you, and ensuring that you drink it. Once you start doing so, you will notice an improvement in mood and in your overall health too, so you will probably be inclined to carry on as a result of that. If you improve your water intake, your skin will not only be healthier, but it will glow more as well.

Poisons

It is also worth looking to see if you have any poisons going into your system on a regular basis which you might be able to do away with. This could be any number of things, but some of the most common are also the worst offenders. Probably the two most common are nicotine and alcohol. If you consume either of these in any large degree, it is almost certainly affecting your skin, so it is definitely a good idea to try and cut down as best as you can. You will find that doing so makes a huge difference, and that it does so quickly as well. If you find it difficult, consider getting some help for it. This will not only be good for your skin but for your overall health as well. As long as you keep poisons to a minimum, your skin will be in a much healthier state on the whole.

Stress

As with most things to do with your health, your skin can be affected greatly by your stress levels. If you are routinely or overly stressed, this will definitely have an effect on your skin health, so you should think about what you might be able to do to keep your stress levels down in future. As it happens, this can be easier said than done, but you will probably agree that it is worth it - especially because of all the other benefits you will see from doing so. Stress is a major skin problem, so be sure to try and do away with it as best as you can.

Feel Like You Have A Brand New Face

It’s easy to look at your face and feel downhearted about how it looks. Whether you have a flurry of spots on your forehead, or you are dealing with wrinkles underneath your eyes, you wish you could scrap your current face and start all over again. In fact, it leads a lot of people to lose confidence.

Here are three steps to take to feel like you have a brand-new face!

Opt for a face mask

You might be surprised how many benefits there can be from having a face mask. For one thing, if your current skin is looking a bit dull and tired, it can give it an instant lift, and you can be left with a stunning complexion. In fact, a lot of girls benefit from a beautiful glow after having a facelift. Also, if your skin is a bit dehydrated, a face mask can give it a boost of hydration. Therefore, you are less likely to have dry and weary skin. Also, a face mask can help with any redness you might be facing if you are prone to acne. It can clear it up to reduce the inflammation on your face. You could choose to buy a face mask which you can just buy and apply to your skin. After all, you can put it on your skin and then relax for 20 minutes while you induce the benefits of the face mask. Or you might want to make your own with natural ingredients. For instance, applying coconut oil to your face can do wonders for your skin!

Go for a facial treatment

A lot of people opt for a facial treatment if they are feeling low about their skin. After all, if you have tons of wrinkles and spots, it can be an excellent way to ease them to leave you with young looking skin again. It might be a simple treatment like a facial which you go for. After all, they can often apply creams to help your skin become soft and glowing. And they can give you further advice on how to protect your skin in future. If you are someone who has been considering a more permanent solution, you could opt for facial plastic surgery. I have come across a lot of women who have mentioned that for them, subtle surgery was the way to go.  But make sure you check out all the different options before you do consider going for a treatment.

Go for a different makeup style

We tend to get into a routine when it comes to makeup. After all, we pick the same items to use every day, and we know exactly how we will apply them to create our daily look. But if you want to give your face a new look, it’s time to go different with your makeup. Opt for a new style which will wow everyone. After all, it can make you look completely different if you change your makeup look. You might want to try something different like extra long mascara. Or you ought to opt for a brighter eyeshadow to really raise heads, and then it can feel like you are a brand-new you without changing much!

And remember that you can try and rid signs of aging from your face by following a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Practical Ways To Deal With Adult Acne

They say they are meant to be the best days of your life - but for many of us, our teenage years consist of stress, worry, and a lot of emotional and physical challenges. For a lot of us, we are glad to see the back of them, so what do you do when problems from your teenage years follow you into adult life? One example of this is acne. Acne is typically associated with teenagers, and very occasionally, people in their early twenties. Of course, everyone gets an odd pimple every now and again, or maybe a small cluster of blackheads. But acne is a far more debilitating condition that can be painful, and that can seriously knock a person's confidence. Part of the reason why acne is commonly associated with teenagers is that it is often caused by significant hormonal changes within the body. Usually, these hormones level out after a number of years and the acne clears up - but when it doesn't, it can be quite distressing to the individual suffering. Adult acne is never an easy ride, but here are a few things you can do to make your condition more bearable to live with.

Ditch the drugstore products

Whether you want to admit to it or not, acne is a skin condition - so much more than the odd spot or bi-monthly breakout. Drugstore products are simply not designed to cope with the strength and density of acne symptoms. They are instead typically designed to be mild for someone with average skin so that they can target the biggest market possible. Stop spending hundreds every year on multiple drugstore products that don't work, and instead consider prescription medication. Of course, you need to learn how to use Retin-A Tretinoin and other similar products safely and efficiently, as they can be quite strong. But they are designed to tackle even severe acne, so you can hope to get a better result from them.

Don't wear makeup every day

Your acne might affect your confidence so much that you feel as though you have to do something every day to mask the appearance of it - even just for yourself. But wearing heavy makeup all the time can quickly worsen your condition and can sometimes even make the scars appear more pronounced. Learn to accept your acne as a part of you on those days where you don't need to see anyone or leave the house. If you can, leave unusually heavy makeup for special occasions only, to let your skin breathe.

Stick to a healthy diet

While acne is mostly caused by hormonal imbalances, certain lifestyle aspects can also have an impact on its severity. Eating a diet mainly made up of processed foods and soda will only clog up your skin even further - remember your skin is an organ, and it needs vitamins and minerals to keep it healthy. Try and drink at least eight glasses of water a day and eat a diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, and oily fish. It won't clear up your acne completely, but it will certainly help improve the overall appearance of your skin.

7 Ways To Get Ready For Summer

Spring can be full of uncertainties. One minute it is warm and sunny outside and the next it is cloudy, rainy and freezing cold. We are either full of colds and sniffling or coughing our way through our days, and let’s not forget all of the comfort food we tend to consume when the weather isn’t too great outside. But as we are fast approaching the Summer, we can start to see some of the changes in our days. The mornings are getting lighter and the evenings less dark. It got me thinking about some of the other ways we could get ourselves ready for the Summer season.

Who else longs for the heat on their skin and a chance to wear just the one layer of clothing? I am sure I am not alone. But truth be told there should be a fair bit of preparation needed to get ourselves ready for the summer months ahead, both physically and mentally. With that in mind, here are some of the things we could do to get our minds and bodies ready for the warmer weather.

Maybe we need to think about defuzzing

There are some major positives to Winter because we spend most of our time wrapped up in all of the layers, it means we don’t have to spend too much time on hair removal when it comes to our legs and bodies. But now that Spring is almost over Summer is around the corner, there are more and more opportunities to strip off those layers and start enjoying the finer weather. This means we are going to have to pay some real attention to defuzzing our bodies.

Hair removal can be a bit of a chore, and I understand that. There are also many different options to consider. Shaving can be the easiest and most cost efficient way of removing hair, but it would require you to do it more often. Then there is waxing which can offer a more long term solution, and you can either choose to go to a salon or do it from the comfort of your own home. This is when it may be worth taking a look to find out the best wax for hair removal to ensure you get the best results.

Exfoliation time

It’s not just hair removal we need to think about when it comes to our bodies, it will also need a bit of TLC when it comes to the condition. Wrapping up in layers means your skin may have started to dry out a little. Making it feel rough to touch and out of condition. But you can get that glowing skin look once more by adding a simple exfoliation to your routine. Using an exfoliator every time you shower or bathe is a great way to help your skin regenerate new skin cells.

Give your feet some love

It’s approaching the season where you may be wanting to wear sandals or flip-flops without the constant rain, but it’s fair to say your feet will have been cooped up in socks and closed toes shoes for the last few months. That might mean your heels are cracking, your skin is dry and your nails are needing a polish and some love. So spend some time giving yourself an at home pedicure and moisturize those feet every night before bed. You won’t believe the difference it will make, and it will have you ready for those summer shoes in no time at all.

Time for a detox

You may have spent most of January on a health kick, but it’s always worth developing habits that you can stick to throughout the year. So it may be the perfect time for you to increase your water intake for the summer ahead. Water is nature's natural detox, and it naturally flushes out your body of all the bad toxins that can build up. There are also some other benefits of drinking more water throughout the day. Things like improved skin tone and condition, improved mood and better quality of sleep at night. It can be a real miracle worker and certainly a habit that will help you throughout the year. After all, with hotter weather approaching you may need to ensure you stay hydrated.

Keep that healthy eating diet going

Who says it is just January that you need to be healthy for? Why not try and take some of the diet changes through to the summer? This could be a great way to maintain your weight and feel better in your own skin. Our energy levels and how we look can have much to do with what we eat and what our diets are like. So if you have managed to refrain from alcohol throughout dry January and rainy April, then don’t go crazy at the beginning of July. Why not try and only drink an alcoholic drink at a social event instead of at home? If you have cut out the take out food or junk then why does it need to stop now? Save those items for a treat rather than adding them back into your everyday diet. Small changes can have a huge impact on how you look and feel.

Give yourself that summer glow

Not all of us are fortunate enough to jet off on holiday before summer arrives, but that doesn't mean you can’t get that sun-kissed glow. Applying a bit of self-tan or gradual tanner can give you that healthy glow without the need for hours of sunbathing. It can also really boost your mood as you can tend to look more healthy and ready for the day ahead.

Ditch the black

Now would be the ideal time to add some color back into your wardrobe. While black is an awesome fashionable color, sometimes you can just feel brighter and happier if you add a bit more color to your fashion choices. Even if it’s as simple as wearing a bright colored lipstick. Small changes can make a huge difference and certainly put us in the mood for warmer days.

I hope these tips help you get yourself ready for the summer months ahead.
